A trio of BBC documentaries about the Ukraine-Russia war are launching in the US on SVoD service BBC Select.

Ukraine: The People’s Fight, Mariupol: The People’s Story and Putin vs the West debuted on BBC Select on Thursday, four days shy of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 20, 2022.

Mariupol: The People’s Story, directed by Robin Barnwell and produced by Hilary Andersson, is a feature-length doc exploring the destruction of the Ukrainian city.

Three-part docuseries Putin vs the West, from filmmaker Norma Percy, examines the inside story of how the West has attempted to deal with Vladimir Putin as he tries to exert his power on the world stage.

Ukraine: The People’s Fight follows filmmaker Olly Lambert as he spends two months on Ukraine’s southern front following a group of volunteer special forces as they begin the push to retake Kherson that would ultimately change the course of the war.

BBC Select, which operates in the US and Canada, launched in February 2021. The ad-free, BBC Studios-owned service has previously acquired titles including feature-length documentary The Anti-Vax Conspiracy from distributor All3Media International and Reclaiming Amy from Curious Films.
