NEWS BRIEF: BBC Two and iPlayer have commissioned Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes, a series set in the north-east of England that will see the actor and singer team up with personalities including former England footballers Jill Scott and Les Ferdinand.

Taking viewers into the heart of the region, the factual programme will showcase the region’s natural beauty and the important role it plays in relieving stress and supporting mental health. The 15×30’ daytime series was commissioned by Helen Munson and produced by Rivers Meet Productions and Signpost Productions.
