BBC picks up Greg Berlanti’s superhero drama Superman & Lois

UK pubcaster the BBC has acquired Superman & Lois, a superhero drama from writer, producer and director Greg Berlanti.

Produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros Television, Superman & Lois was first commissioned by US network The CW but will premiere in the UK on linear channel BBC One and the BBC’s VoD platform iPlayer on December 4.

Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois was developed by Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl) and Todd Helbing (The Flash, Black Sails).

Berlanti and Helbing also executive produce the series alongside Sarah Schechter (All American, Riverdale), David Madden (You, Kung Fu) and Geoff Johns (Titans, DC’s Stargirl, Wonder Woman).

Superman & Lois stars Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf) as Clark Kent and Elizabeth Tulloch (Grimm) as Lois Lane, who are faced with their latest challenge of coping with being working parents in today’s society.
