BBC picks up Foxtel’s Aussie comedy Colin From Accounts after LA Screenings buzz

Colin From Accounts debuts on BBC Two and iPlayer this year

The BBC in the UK has acquired critically acclaimed Australian romantic comedy series Colin From Accounts from Paramount Global Content Distribution.

The eight-part series was commissioned by the Foxtel Group in Australia and screened at last year’s LA Screenings, where it drew praise from buyers.

Created, written by and starring Patrick Brammall (Offspring) and Harriet Dyer (The Invisible Man), the series centres on two single(ish), complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog.

Launching on BBC Two and iPlayer later this year, the show is about flawed, funny people choosing each other and being brave enough to show their true self, scars and all, as they navigate life together.

Produced by Easy Tiger Productions and CBS Studios, it also stars Helen Thomson (Elvis), Emma Harvie (Frayed), Genevieve Hegney (The Little Death), Michael Logo (Love Me) and Tai Hara (Home & Away).

It is directed by Trent O’Donnell (Review with Myles Barlow), Matt Moore (The Great) and Madeleine Dyer (Neighbourhood Wars) and executive produced by Brammall, Dyer, Trent O’Donnell, Alison Hurbert-Burns (Love Me), Brian Walsh (John Wick), Rob Gibson (Bloom) and Ian Collie (Saving Mr Banks).

Matthew Downer, senior VP of regional TV licensing at Paramount Global Content Distribution, said the show has “already proven to be a hit with the Australian audience and critics alike.” The show is carried by Foxtel-owned streamer Binge in Australia.
