BBC One adds Mackesy adaptation to Christmas schedule

NEWS BRIEF: UK pubcaster the BBC has acquired animated short film The Boy, The Mole, The Fox & The Horse, based on Charlie Mackesy’s bestselling illustrated book, to air on BBC One and iPlayer at Christmas.

Tom Hollander, Idris Elba and Gabriel Byrne are among the voice talents in the film, which is co-directed by Mackesy and Peter Baynton and produced by Cara Speller of NoneMore Productions and JJ Abrams and Hannah Minghella of Bad Robot Productions. The acquisition was made by BBC chief content officer Charlotte Moore and drama commissioning executive Ayela Butt.
