BBC lands on 1900 Island

The 1900 Island is being made by Wildflame Productions

UK pubcaster the BBC is preparing a four-part show that tasks families with making a living in a recreation of an early 20th century fishing community.

The 1900 Island follows four families as they head back in time to experience the challenges of living at the turn of the last century on an uninhabited Welsh island.

The show will last four weeks and comes from Wildflame Productions, with BBC1 Wales and BBC2 coproducing. Alexis Girardet produces.

The series starts on BBC1 Wales on May 2 at 20.00, while an airdate for BBC2 has yet to be confirmed.
