BBC goes for Little Lunch as ACTF shops Aussie shows including Knee High Spies

Comedy Little Lunch is set during snack time in a primary school playground

MIPCOM: The BBC in the UK has acquired award-winning Australian children’s comedy series Little Lunch, produced by Gristmill Productions.

Distributed internationally by the Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF), the mockumentary series is streaming on BBC iPlayer and will be broadcast on CBBC.

The series has had global success, with sales in more than 100 territories, and has been translated into multiple languages.

Knee High Spies uses animatronics, puppets and visual effects

The ACTF’s slate in Cannes features the debut of Werner Productions’ preschool live-action series the Knee High Spies, which uses animatronics, puppets and visual effects to create a magical world where toys are brought to life with missions to complete and interactive puzzles that need the audience’s help to solve.

The series was originally commissioned by Australia’s ABC.

Also debuting at Mipcom is 10×30’ animated series Tales from Outer Suburbia, adapted from Shaun Tan’s illustrated anthology of the same name and produced by Highly Spirited and Flying Bark Productions.
