BBC drops Buzzcocks

The BBC has cancelled long-running music panel show Never Mind The Buzzcocks after almost 20 years on air.

BBC2 has called time on the music trivia show, which debuted in 1996, after its dropping ratings failed to improve.

“After 28 series we’ve decided not to bring back Never Mind the Buzzcocks to the BBC. This will create space for new entertainment formats in the future,” a BBC spokeswoman said.

Made by Talkback, the show will be remembered for the explosive walkouts of its guests including the Ordinary Boys lead singer Preston.
