BBC docuseries investigates disappearance of British woman Sarm Heslop

UK pubcaster the BBC has commissioned a docuseries investigating the case of Sarm Heslop, a British woman who disappeared from a Caribbean charter yacht in 2021.

Missing in Paradise: Searching for Sarm (3×30’) investigates the circumstances around Heslop’s disappearance and features interviews with police who led the investigation and exclusive CCTV footage.

The BBC Current Affairs docuseries is produced for BBC Two and BBC Three, where it will air later this month. It will also stream on iPlayer. Sarah Waldron exec produces, while Alexander Nott directs.

In other factual news, BBC World Service has produced a documentary film examining how Syria’s Assad regime used global childcare charity SOS Children’s Villages International to aid the disappearance of children for nearly a decade.

Syria’s Stolen Children follows the journey of a Syrian mother to find her son, one of at least 3,700 children who went missing during Syria’s civil war between 2011 and 2024.

The investigation by BBC Eye is in collaboration with Lighthouse Reports, The Observer, SIRAJ, Der Spiegel, Trouw and Women Who Won the War. It is available on iPlayer in the UK, on the BBC World Service YouTube channel globally and will air during current affairs programme Global Eye on BBC Two on Monday.
