BBC, Disney alum Jo Redfern named kids’ MD at Wind Sun Sky Entertainment

Vancouver-based multimedia company Wind Sun Sky Entertainment (WSS) has appointed BBC and Disney alum Jo Redfern as MD, kids.

In the newly created post, Redfern is charged with growing the company’s kids’ business, with oversight of franchise development, content distribution and gaming and video production, in addition to focusing on WSS’s recently launched eco-initiative Future Chicken.

She will be based at the company’s headquarters in Vancouver, Canada and have day-to-day oversight of the kids’ team, reporting to CEO Catherine Winder.

Most recently, Redfern served as global head of brand at digital brand-building company 24 Watts, and before that was head of brand at the BBC Children’s and Education division. Earlier in her career she was marketing manager at World Wrestling Entertainment and Disney Branded Television.

WSS has previously partnered with Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment on the animated drama Invincible for Amazon’s Prime Video. The company also produced adult animated comedy Psi Cops for Adult Swim in Canada, as well as adapting Roblox game Twilight Daycare as a scripted series produced for the Roblox platform.
