LONDON TV SCREENINGS: BBC in the UK, Canada’s Corus Entertainment, Bravo in New Zealand and Talpa TV in the Netherlands have pre-bought the Australian docu-soap Billion Dollar Playground.

The project, produced by Ronde Media for Australia’s Foxtel, goes inside the world of luxury hospitality, following a high-end homestay and concierge company called Luxico.

Fox Entertainment’s sales arm Fox Entertainment Global (FEG), which sells the series internationally, announced the deals from the London Screenings this morning.

Other series produced by Sydney-based Ronde Media include Big Miracles (Nine Network), Outback Ringer (ABC Australia), Bondi Rescue (Paramount/Ten) and drama sensation Territory, the latter of which was cancelled by Netflix last week despite posting strong viewership.

FEG’s executive VP of content sales David Smyth called Billion Dollar Playground a perfect example of a high-end docu-soap that delivers everything viewers love – aspirational lifestyles, high-stakes drama and compelling personalities.”
