House of Fools (working title, 6×30′) is a studio sitcom set in a flat shared by Vic and Bob, frequently visited by unwanted guests. The supporting cast includes Matt Berry (The IT Crown) and Dan Skinner (The Angelos Epithemiou Show).

The series, produced in-house at the BBC in asssocation with the comedy twosome’s indie prodco Pett Productions, will shoot later in the year to air in 2014.

It was commissioned by Janice Hadlow, controller of BBC2, and Shane Allen, controller of comedy commissioning, to be produced by Pett’s Lisa Clark and executive produced by Mark Freeland.

“Just as they bent the rules of the panel show format, House of Fools does the same to the studio sitcom. It’s half an hour of unadulterated Reeves and Mortimer, uniquely surreal jokes, physical nonsense, daft songs, unimaginable props and impossible situations with a comedy thoroughbred cast,” the BBC said.

The show sees Reeves and Mortimer back on the BBC after their long-running comedy panel show Shooting Stars was finally axed in 2011, after debuting on BBC2 in 1995 and being revived in 2008.
