Jamie Dornan and Danielle Macdonald in The Tourist

NPO in the Netherlands and France Télévisions are among the international broadcasters to have picked up Outback thriller The Tourist, starring Jamie Dornan.

Dornan plays a man with a dark past who wakes up in an Australian hospital with no memory of who he is after a car crash.

The critically acclaimed six-part drama is produced by Two Brothers Pictures and commissioned by BBC One in association with streaming service Stan, with HBO Max confirmed as the US streamer and ZDF as the German broadcaster.

UK-based distributor All3Media International has announced a number of sales, including to NPO, VRT (Belgium), RTÉ (Ireland), Cosmote (Greece) and France Télévisions’ France 3.

HBO Max has acquired the series in a pan-territory deal covering the Nordics, Central and Eastern Europe and Iberia. Middle Eastern multinational DBS provider OSN has also taken the show, along with TVNZ in New Zealand; BBC Studios for its premium SVoD service BBC First across Asia; and South Korean VoD platform Series On.

Finally, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the series in Canada and digital deals have been done in the UK with iTunes and Google Ireland.
