BBC America onboard latest Human

US cable network BBC America has signed on as a coproducer for the latest season of Touchpaper Television’s supernatural BBC3 drama Being Human.

The US channel has aired previous seasons of the British series but is now an official coproduction partner on the show – which features a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost who live together – along with indie prodco Touchpaper, BBC Drama and UK diginet BBC3.

Season four will comprise eight hour-long episodes, which are set for spring 2012, as announced last month. Touchpaper’s parent Zodiak Media Group is distributing.

Another US cable network, Syfy, last month commissioned a second season of the US version of Being Human from Zodiak USA and Muse Entertainment.

Meanwhile, BBC America has set airdates for two other British dramas. Kudos Films’ sci-fi series Outcasts (8×60′) goes out on June 18, while Bedlam, which stars Will Young and Joanna Page, debuts on October 8.
