Banijay’s Mastiff invests as market shows signs of recovery, makes double hire

Banijay’s Mastiff in Copenhagen has appointed Henrik Rasmussen as head of development and hired Josephine Mathisen as producer.

With extensive production and development experience, most recently with Shaolin for Denmark’s TV2, Rasmussen will add knowledge and experience to Mastiff.

He has spent much of his recent career at another Banijay-owned Scandi-producer Metronome, spending more than four years as head of reality and then more recently as head of development.

Mathisen comes to Mastiff from a similar position at prodco Strong and has experience with factual entertainment, lifestyle, and reality. She brings her skills to Mastiff to help renew the company’s existing brands and produce new titles for both the local market and international streamers.

The Danish prodco is renewing its ambitions for growth and innovation as the TV market shows small signs of recovery.

“The time has come to invest in development. In a pressured market, we must innovate both with our existing formats and in our approach to new ideas and formats. Josephine and Henrik can drive that with their respective backgrounds,” Kristian Farcin-Leth, CEO at Mastiff, said.

“Henrik Rasmussen’s experience is valuable as we explore new opportunities for developing content for a market that is gradually showing signs of improvement,” David Sidebotham, creative director at Mastiff, said.
