Banijay’s Marie Antoinette travels across Europe and the Americas

Broadcasters and streamers including CBC/Radio-Canada, Viaplay, RTÉ in Ireland and Sky Italia have picked up period drama Marie Antoinette from Banijay Rights.

Viaplay has acquired the series for the Netherlands and all Nordic and Baltic countries, while CBC/Radio-Canada has picked it up for its English-language streaming service CBC Gem, French-language channel Ici Télé and French-language streamer Ici Tou.TV.

Antenna Plus in Greece’s Ant1+ has also acquired the series, as have Ceska Televize in the Czech Republic, DirecTV in Latin America and RTVS in Slovakia.

Produced by Banijay Studios France, CAPA Drama and Les Gens, Marie Antoinette was created and written by Deborah Davis for Canal+ in France. The eight-part historical series tells the story of the young French queen.
