Banijay Rights names EMEA sales lead

Banijay Rights, the distribution arm of European production giant Banijay, has promoted from within to fill the role of executive VP, EMEA sales and acquisitions.

Claire Jago

Claire Jago takes on the position following eight months as senior VP, Nordics, at Banijay Rights. She replaces Tim Mutimer, who left the company to serve as CEO of London-based distributor Cineflix Rights.

In her expanded role, Jago will now take responsibility for the team and activity across EMEA, reporting to Banijay Rights CEO Cathy Payne.

Alongside Jago, Matt Creasey will continue in his role as executive VP, sales, coproductions and acquisitions, rest of the world, handling territories outside EMEA.

Jago started her career in 2006 as an executive assistant at Endemol Shine International and worked her way up to senior sales director, before the group was acquired by Banijay in 2019.

Payne said: “Claire has a proven track record across EMEA, is a determined sales force and demonstrates tremendous commercial judgement, making her the perfect fit for the role. We have worked together for years and I look forward to continuing to partner closely in further building out our success course in the region.”

Jago added: “Having spent almost 15 years working with some of the team and a vast amount of the catalogue, I am beyond proud to be taking the next step in the new world of Banijay Rights. With scale, an abundance of titles and a fantastic team around us, we have so much opportunity for growth across EMEA and I can’t wait to get started.”
