European production and distribution group Banijay will shop six new scripted titles at Mipcom, including Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight’s new drama This Town.

Produced by Kudos, Nebulastar and Mercury Studios in association with Kudos North for the BBC, the 6×60’ series tells the story of the ska and two-tone music scene in the Midlands region of the UK in 1981.

Banijay’s Autumn slate also includes Three Little Birds, produced by Tiger Aspect and Douglas Road Productions for ITV and BritBox International.

Executive produced by comedian and actor Sir Lenny Henry (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power), the 6×60’ series focuses on three women who travel to Britain from Jamaica in the 1950s in search of a new life.

Meanwhile, crime drama Fallen stars Sofia Helin (The Bridge) as a murder detective solving cold cases in Sweden. It is made by Filmlance in a coproduction with C More, TV4, ZDF and Film i Skåne.

Banijay-owned prodco Jarowskij is producing Murder in Hanko for Finland’s Nelonen and its streaming service Ruutu. Based on author Matti Remes’s Ruben Waara crime novels, it centres on a tense murder investigation and its effect on a dysfunctional family.

Missing persons thriller Broceliande is produced by Banijay France’s Shine Fiction in a copro with Les Films du Printemps for France’s TF1.

Finally, police drama Rivière-Perdue centres on the mysterious re-appearance of a woman five years after she vanished. The drama is a coproduction between Terence Films and Geteve Productions for TF1.

Christian Wikander, global head of scripted at Banijay said: “This portfolio of fantastic stories is a testament to the distinct identities and unrivalled creativity of the talent and labels across the Banijay footprint.”
