Banijay Kids & Family buys UK’s Kindle Entertainment, Italy’s Movimenti

Netflix family film trilogy Ivy & Bean

Banijay Kids & Family has acquired UK drama company Kindle Entertainment and Italian prodco and animation studio Movimenti Production.

Based in London, female-led Kindle Entertainment was established in 2007 under the leadership of MDs Melanie Stokes and Anne Brogan.

The prodco is behind a number of premium young-adult and family dramas, including limited series Little Darlings for Sky, teen mystery The A List for Netflix and family film trilogy Ivy & Bean, also for Netflix.

Movimenti Production, meanwhile, was founded in 2004 with bases in Milan, Florence and Rome. Led by CEOs Giorgio Scorza and Davide Rosio, the prodco produces animation for preschoolers, children and young adults.

Credits include kids’ series Topo Gigio for Rai and adult animation Tear Along the Dotted Line for Netflix.

Movimenti also created ForFun Media – The Animation Network with Studio Bozzetto, which houses 2D studio DogHead Animation and 3D production studio MoBo. in 2019, the company teamed up with publishing network Auzou to create Easy Peasy Entertainment, an independent animation production company based in Paris.

Kindle and Movimenti join Banijay Kids & Family’s four existing labels in France, the UK and Italy: Zodiak Kids & Family France, Zodiak Kids & Family Productions UK, Monello Productions and Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, as well as distribution and licensing arm Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution.
