AVoD streamer Tubi to bring back western horror Wynonna Earp for 90-minute special

Production on the new one-off episode of Wynonna Earp starts this month

Supernatural western horror series Wynonna Earp, which wrapped its four-season run in 2021, is returning for a 90-minute special on Fox-owned AVoD service Tubi.

Emily Andras, creator of the Canadian series, wrote the one-off episode, which is expected to air in late 2024, although an official premiere date has not yet been set. Production is slated to begin later this month.

Main cast members Melanie Scrofano, Tim Rozon, Dom Provost-Chalkley and Katherine Barrell will all return for the special, with Paolo Barzman set to direct.

News of the episode, which is tentatively titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, was first reported by Vanity Fair.

While the episode is planned as a one-off, Andras suggested on social media platform X that there could be an appetite to do more. When asked if there would be a chance to do another season, Andras replied: “If #Earpers show up for this, anything is possible.”

S4 of the show was produced by IDW Entertainment, Cineflix Studios and Seven24 Films for Syfy US and CTV Sci-Fi in Canada. Full production details for the special have not yet been announced.
