Authentic Prod lines up historical romance and contemporary drama projects

Lady Liberté is set during the construction of the Statue of Liberty

Paris-based production house Authentic Prod (This Is Us), part of Banijay France, has announced two new premium scripted projects, including eight-part historical series Lady Liberté.

Created by Marion Festraëts and Arnaud Malherbe, the drama unfolds against the backdrop of 1880s Paris during the construction of the Statue of Liberty. A black American woman searching for her roots and a revenge-fuelled prison escapee unite in a fight for freedom.

Meanwhile, Authentic has begun filming two-part limited contemporary drama À La Vie (To Life) for French commercial broadcaster TF1. It follows Fabienne, a maternity ward director who goes on an emotional journey towards redemption with two fellow Alcoholics Anonymous members.
