Autentic Distribution reveals MipTV slate including Ukraine docs, wildlife features

Wildlife documentary Soul of the Ocean

German documentary sales house Autentic Distribution will showcase its spring slate of more than 120 hours at MipTV in Cannes next month, including a pair of projects focusing on the war in Ukraine.

The Munich-based label’s line-up includes two current affairs titles examining the war in Ukraine – Against All Odds (1×55’, by OUP, Gingers Media, Illuminated Content) and Weaponized Wheat (1×45’, by Thurnfilm for WDR, NDR, BR).

In the wildlife strand, Autentic will shop Soul of the Ocean (1×50’, 1×80’ by Terra Mater Studios, Howard Hall Productions, Mark Fletcher Productions, The WNET Group, PBS, CPB); The View from on High (1×50’, by Terra Mater Studios); manta ray special Alien Contact (1×50’ by Terra Mater and Wild Logic for Doclights and NDR Naturfilm); and The Hummingbird Effect (1×50’ by Terra Mater, Thirteen Productions, PBS, CPB, WNET and Coneflower Film Studios).

Factual entertainment programming, meanwhile, includes That Crazy Italian Farm (6×45’ by GiUMa Produzioni for Discovery Italia) about a Venetian family of farmers, and A Farm of Our Own (1×30’ by WDR, Sagamedia Film and Fernsehproduktion).

Science and technology films to be shopped are Extreme Engineering – Rehauling a High-Speed Train (1×55’ by Galaxie Presse, MRC Decouverte) and Hormones Have No Gender (52’ by NHP neue film produktion for RBB and Arte).

Travel and adventure shows on the slate are The Kingdom of Jordan (2×45’ by Vincent Productions for NDR and Arte), Hidden Beauty of Spain (4×52’/4×45’ by Vincent Productions for ZDF and Arte) and Women above the Clouds (5×26’ by NFP neue film produktion for RBB and Arte).
