Australia’s Stan to premiere Easy Tiger, Third Act Stories original crime series Scrublands: Silver

Scrublands: Silver is the sequel to original crime mystery series Scrubland

Australian streamer Stan will premiere Scrublands: Silver, the sequel to its original crime mystery series Scrubland, next month.

The sequel is based on crime mystery novels from Chris Hammer and was again co-commissioned by Stan and parent company the Nine Network. It is produced by Easy Tiger and Third Act Stories.

In December at Content London London-based Sphere Abacus announced that it had sold Scrublands: Silver to AMC’s Sundance Now for US and Canadian audiences in 2025.

The first season of Scrublands was sold to Sundance Now (US and Canada), BBC (UK), Warner Bros Discovery (New Zealand), RTL (Germany), RTÉ (Ireland), Media4Fun (Poland) and Cosmote TV (Greece).

In Australia, the first season of Scrublands will screen on the Nine Network this week after making its local debut on Stan last year.

The second season was shot in Western Australia where coproducers Third Act Stories are based and attracted production investment from Screenwest, Lotterywest and the WA Regional Screen Fund.

In the new season, it’s been a year since the life changing events of Scrublands and award-winning investigative journalist Martin Scarsden has returned to his coastal hometown, Port Silver, to set up a new life but returns to find a childhood friend has been murdered.

The series is produced by Easy Tiger’s Ian Collie and Rob Gibson and Martha Coleman and Felicity Packard from Third Act Stories with executive producers Michael Healy and Andy Ryan from the Nine Network and Cailah Scobie and Alicia Brown for Stan.
