Australia’s ABC, BBC Studios renew long-running deal for best of British content

Call The Midwife will be returning to Australian screens

LONDON TV SCREENINGS: Australian pubcaster ABC has renewed its long-running partnership with BBC Studios in a multi-year content deal across drama, comedy, children’s and entertainment.

The content deal was last renewed in 2022. Today’s deal was confirmed on the first day of BBC Studio Showcase event, taking place today and tomorrow as part of the London TV Screenings.

Content featured in the partnership include an Australian first-run for the BBC’s children’s shows Hey Duggee, Andy’s Global Adventures and the new series of Supertato, Deadly 60 and Horrible Histories.

Returning entertainment titles including the season three and four of Alan Carr’s coming of age story Changing Ends and stand-up comedy showcase Live At the Apollo.

The deal ensures continuing access to the second run of series Death in Paradise, Beyond Paradise, Call The Midwife, Silent Witness, Father Brown, Antiques Roadshow and The Cleaner.

The ABC will premiere the sixth season of crime series Unforgotten and the second series of Sherwood. The deal also includes the premiere of the re-imagining of Walking With Dinosaurs in Australia, using VFX to tell the stories of six individual dinosaurs.
