Australia explores its Vice

An Australian broadcaster has picked up the HBO documentary series coproduced with multimedia company Vice, featuring basketball star Dennis Rodman’s visit to North Korea.

Foxtel channel Fox8 will begin airing Vice next month. The series claims to “cover some of the most shocking, compelling and entertaining news stories that are often overlooked by mainstream media outlets.”

Episodes include Rodman’s visit to the basketball-crazed city of Pyongyang in North Korea, where he met North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, an assessment of Senegal’s sumo/mixed martial arts craze, as well as a look at tensions on the India-Pakistan border.

Vice Media is a global youth media company with bureaus in over 30 countries, including Australia. Fox8’s premiere of the Dennis Rodman episode on June 19 will air just days after its US broadcast on HBO.
