Australian animation studios Flying Bark Productions, Cheeky Little Media and Pixel Zoo Animation Studio have aligned to develop and produce a feature-length adaptation of the Zac Power book series.

The production has received funding support from Screen Australia, in association with the Australian Children’s Television Foundation.

The Zac Power 25-book franchise, written by H.I. Larry and from Hardie Grant Publishing, has sold more than 3.5 million copies in Australia and New Zealand and been published in 14 countries. The adaptation takes Zac on a quest to maintain his position as the top teenage spy following the arrival of a new agent.

The producing team includes Fly Bark Productions’ Barbara Stephen, Alexia Gates-Foale and Leah James, and Cheeky Little Media’s Patrick Egerton and Celine Goetz.

Paramount Pictures has secured distribution rights for Australia and New Zealand with Studio 100 managing international sales.

Leading the voice cast are Parker Little (Apples Never Fall, The Bureau of Magical Things) as Zac Power and Matt Lucas (Little Britain, Paddington, Doctor Who), joined by an ensemble of international and Australian talent including actor, writer and director Leah Purcell (Wentworth, High Country) and David Wenham (Peter Rabbit, Moulin Rouge!, Lord of the Rings).
