Attenborough’s reef awash with sales

David Attenborough’s BBC series on the Great Barrier Reef

Discovery in Europe and Latin America and a host of European pubcasters have picked up one of the latest projects fronted by veteran natural history presenter David Attenborough from distributor Entertainment One (eOne).

The Canadian producer and distributor holds the rights to David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef outside the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

The 4×60’ series was produced by UK indie Atlantic Productions for BBC1 and has now been sold into more than 180 territories.

Deals secured by eOne include Discovery in Latin America, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain.

Atresmedia will share the rights in Spain, as will SIC in Portugal, while elsewhere in Europe, NRK in Norway, DR in Denmark, YLE in Finland and VRT in Belgium will air the series. A pan-African and -Asian deal has also been secured with BBC Earth.
