Atresmedia orders Spanish version of A Party to Die For from ITV Studios

A Party to Die For originally aired on SBS6 as Moordfeest

MIPCOM: Spanish media group Atresmedia has commissioned a local version of Dutch whodunit gameshow A Party to Die For, and it’s already in production via ITV Studios Iberia.

The format, distributed by ITV Studios, sees celebrities turned into detectives and will air in Spain on the group’s main channel, Antena 3, hosted by Àngel Llàcer. The news was first reported by local press in Spain and confirmed by C21’s Spanish-language sister publication Cveintiuno here at Mipcom.

A Party to Die For takes place at a party where one of the guests is “murdered” and the rest must uncover the truth. Working together while keeping secrets, contestants search for clues to unmask the killer, a mystery celebrity outside the group.

The format was created by ITV Studios Netherlands and Talpa Studios, originally titled Moordfeest and airing on SBS6 in the Netherlands, and later adapted by M6 in France.

For ITV Studios Iberia, the Spanish arm of the British company launched two years ago under the leadership of Nathalie García, this marks the first new format it has sold and produced locally.

Since its launch, the company has produced several formats already established in the Spanish market, including The Voice (La Voz), The Voice Kids and The Alphabet Game (Pasapalabra) for Atresmedia, as well as The Chase (El Cazador) and The Chase Stars for pubcaster RTVE.
