Atresmedia drama series Alba and Entre Tierras find buyers across Europe

Alba was adapted from Turkish series Fatmagül

Spanish distributor Atresmedia Sales has closed multiple international distribution deals with broadcasters in Portugal, Greece, the UK and Finland after its appearance at Mipcom last week.

Most significant were the sale of its drama Alba to SIC (Portugal), Alpha (Greece) and Telma (the Balkans) and Finnish public broadcaster YLE’s acquisition of Entre Tierras.

An adaptation of Turkish series Fatmagül, Alba became an international success in 2022 after it screened on Netflix, where it was one of the most-watched Spanish titles of the year. Entre Tierras, meanwhile, stars Megan Montaner and is produced by Boomerang TV for Antena 3, which has already renewed it for a second season.

Atresmedia also announced that original Atresplayer production Mariliendre was acquired in Portugal by pubcaster RTP and that the drama Honor was acquired by Walter Presents for the UK and by Nova for Greece.

Period drama Beguinas was also picked up by YLE and in Portugal by NOS, while the science fiction series Santuario went to Baltic network TV3, Ukraine’s TET and NOS.

In addition to these deals, biographical series El Gran Salto, about athlete Gervasio Deferr, was sold to Nova and RTP. The latter also acquired comedies Déjate Ver and Dos Años y un Día, starring Arturo Valls, who plays a famous actor and presenter who ends up in prison.

“Once again, Atresmedia Sales has stood out prominently, closing numerous commercial deals with clients around the globe and consolidating its position as a major benchmark in Spanish-language audiovisual production,” said the company.
