Atresmedia acquires the rights to All3Media’s dating show Sexy Beasts

Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia has acquired dating show Sexy Beasts

Spanish broadcaster Atresmedia has acquired the rights to adapt the dating show Sexy Beasts, a format distributed by All3Media International.

The news was revealed by local media and confirmed by Cveintiuno. The local production will be handled by Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia), although there are still no official details about dates or broadcast channel.

In Sexy Beasts, single young men go on dates dressed in prosthetic masks that turn them into monsters, aliens or demonic creatures.

The original show premiered in 2014 on BBC Three in the UK. It was created and produced by Lion Television, owned by All3Media.

Since then, the format has been adapted in markets such as South Korea (KBS), China (Tencent), Lithuania (TV3), the United States (A&E), Germany (Sixx) and Russia (CTC Network).

In 2021, Netflix commissioned Lion Television to remake the show in the UK, which ran for two seasons of six episodes each.
