Arte and Discovery copros among new commissions by Blue Ant’s Love Nature

The Philippines is produced by Terra Mater

SUNNY SIDE: Canada’s Blue Ant Studios has commissioned four new wildlife titles for its Love Nature brand, including coproductions with Arte and Discovery.

Animal Crowds (3×60’), produced by Bonne Pioche Télévision and coproduced with Arte, examines the phenomenon of wildlife that gathers, lives and moves about in groups by the hundreds and even thousands, whether it be herds, flocks, shoals, swarms or colonies.

The Philippines (2×60’), produced by Terra Mater, explores the country’s wild animals and marine life which inhabit the rainforests, mountains, beaches and reefs. Catkin Media Production and Doclights are production partners on the project.

Boss Shark: Battle of the Sexes (1×60’), produced by WildBear Entertainment and coproduced with Discovery, follows shark experts Doctor Riley Elliott and Kori Burkhardt as they evaluate whether male and female sharks are more dominant. The hour-doc is coproduced with Discovery.

Blue Ant Studios also commissioned a second season of Planet Weird (6×60’), also produced by WildBear, which explores bizarre outliers in the animal kingdom.

Blue Ant Studios revealed the slate at Sunny Side of the Doc in La Rochelle, France with the company managing international licensing and pre-sales for the titles.
