Aronson makes IFC move

Veteran TV exec Peter Aronson has joined AMC Networks-owned IFC to work on the channel’s original series.

Aronson has been named exec VP of original programming and production for the US cable network and will report to IFC president Jennifer Caserta. He will be based in the firm’s Los Angeles office.

The appointment follows the exit of Debbie DeMontreux in December.

Aronson was most recently exec VP of Alloy Digital (fka Defy Media) and also co-founded Generate with Jordan Levin, who recently moved to Xbox Entertainment Studios.

Before that Aronson had worked for Walt Disney Television and Touchstone TV.

“IFC is increasingly defined by our ‘slightly off’ approach to original programming, so having the right creative executive running this critical function is so important for our continued growth and success,” Caserta said.
