The pre-market agreement will allow Nordisk Film TV to adapt the format for Scandinavia. It follows similar deals made for the factual entertainment show in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Australia and Belgium. Nordisk Film TV’s CCO Peter Hansen called The Gran Plan “one of the strongest formats at MipTV,” claiming that it “instantly created a buzz.”

The 60-minute format, originally made by Artza Productions in cooperation with Israel’s Channel 10, features grandmothers providing advice to younger generations, often with comic results. The format gave “a fresh lease of life” to the coaching genre, said Armoza Formats CEO Avi Armoza.

With Israeli formats in high demand around the globe, Armoza is also here in Cannes with some new ones. On the company’s MipTV slate is family road trip show Family Time, also from Arzta; dating show Nobody’s Perfect, from Buzz Productions; and physical gameshow Catch, from Darset Productions.

Also new are gameshow-in-your-home format Special Delivery, from Lotus Productions for Channel 10 and celeb-in-disguise format Driving Me Crazy, from Yoav Gross and Nihul Plus Productions. Scripted shows include thriller Allenby, from Inosan Productions for Channel 10; and sitcom Little Mosque, from Westwind Pictures for CBC in Canada.
