Armoza to sing Finland’s Song around world

Song of My Life airs on YLE

Israel’s Armoza Formats has picked up global distribution rights to a Finnish format revolving around celebrities’ favourite songs.

Song of My Life (10×60’) was originally produced by Finland’s Yellow Film & TV for local pubcaster YLE.

Each episode features four celebrity guests, each of whom has chosen a song that has significance to them. After a band performs the songs live in the studio, the celebs must attempt to figure out which song belongs to who, with the stories behind each choice revealed at the end of the programme.

Riku Riihilahti, head of international business at Yellow Film & TV, said: “Song of my Life has been the TV phenomenon of the season in Finland. Viewers love the feel-good factor of the format, and the game itself is so catchy that people have started to play it together on their own as well as via the application. We believe that this fun and engaging element will appeal to viewers worldwide.”

The format is the first new title to be revealed as part of Armoza’s Mipcom slate. The company was acquired by the UK’s ITV Studios in July.
