Armoza launches five formats for spring

A Family Man comes from Russia’s TNT

ITV Studios-owned Armoza Formats’ spring slate features five new formats, comprising three unscripted and two scripted shows.

In unscripted is gameshow Family Piggy Bank, a one-hour programme from Armoza and Gamechanger that puts one family’s knowledge and trust in each other to the test as they work together to try to fill their family piggy bank.

Using CGI, the format comes with a technological hub that creates a shiny-floor studio, virtual gameplay movements and a virtual audience.

The other two unscripted formats are co-developments between Armoza and Something Special in Korea. The first, Checklist for Love, is a 16×60’-90’ dating competition show in which 11 men and 10 women will move in together in the hope of finding their one true love.

Each week, the singles compete in challenges to prove they possess the qualities featured on checklists compiled by the men and women. At the end of each week, one person will be eliminated, moving out and removing the money equal to their ‘worth’ from the prize pot. The last couple standing, who possess all the qualities on the list, will leave with each other and the prize money.

The second, More is Less, is a 60-minute cooking competition series in which four chefs battle it out to cook the best dishes using the fewest ingredients. The more ingredients they use, the less money they win.

In scripted, Armoza is launching A Family Man, a 16×30’ sitcom from TNT in Russia. The series follows a man who has been trying to get his wife pregnant and is shocked to discover that, when that day finally comes, not only is his wife pregnant but so is his mistress and a woman with whom he had one-night stand.

He invites them to all live with him under one roof but, instead, the women form an unlikely friendship and move in together without him. The second season of A Family Man will premiere on TNT this year, with both the finished series and format for adaptation available.

The final series is drama Married Life Scenes (8×30’), which is produced by Russian prodco SREDA and is soon to launch on MTC. The programme follows young married couple Polina and Nikita, who were madly in love but have quickly become disillusioned by their relationship and are headed for a divorce.

However, when Polina accidentally kills an influencer with whom she thinks Nikita is having an affair, the couple’s passion is reignited. With their relationship never better, the couples see themselves as ‘cleansers’ as they go on a spree to rid the world of whomever they deem toxic.

Married Life Scenes is available as finished tape and as a format for adaptation.
