Armoza duo enter South Africa

The Gran Plan was originally made by Artza Productions

South African prodco The TVSmiths has struck a deal with Israel’s Armoza Formats to make local versions of primetime entertainment show I Can Do That! and comedic factual entertainment series The Gran Plan.

I Can Do That! challenges eight celebrities to choose an act to master in a week before they perform it live, with viewers voting for the best. The format emerged from a partnership between Armoza and China’s JiangSu Broadcasting Corp.

Original versions have been produced in more than 25 countries and aired in more than 90, including the US, Italy, Germany and Mexico.

The Gran Plan, originally from Artza Productions, sees a trio of grandmothers become life coaches and helping people with problems ranging from career struggles to unhealthy addictions.

The sales are the latest for Israeli producer and distributor Armoza in South Africa, having previously sold adaptations of docu-reality format Marry Me Now and factual entertainment format The Ex-Team, with the latter set to air shortly on VIA.
