Apploff Entertainment teams up with Stevie Van Zandt for music format

LA-based unscripted outfit Apploff Entertainment is teaming with musician and actor Stevie Van Zandt (The Sopranos, Lilyhammer), best known as a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, on a new music-focused series.

The Jam will bring together global superstars and emerging artists for a format that blends performances, story packages and interviews.

The weekly live-to-tape series is described as a “modernised throwback to a time when music influenced the cultural conversation and blends the timeless appeal of [long-running weekly dance show] American Bandstand with the electrifying energy of [musical variety show] Soul Train and the intimate vibe of MTV Unplugged.”

Apploff Entertainment, led by president Jeff Apploff, is the company behind series Fox music-focused series Beat Shazam and Don’t Forget the Lyrics.

Apploff and Van Zandt will serve as executive producers on the show.
