Apple TV+ Rudolph sitcom goes to series

US streamer Apple TV+ has given a straight-to-series order to a comedy starring Maya Rudolph from creators Alan Yang (Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (30 Rock).

Produced by Universal Television, Rudolph will star as Molly in the untitled series, a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended after her husband leaves her with nothing but US$87bn.

Yang and Hubbard will create, write and direct the series, while Rudolph will executive produce through her prodco, Animal Pictures, with Natasha Lyonne, Dave Becky and Danielle Renfrew Behrens also executive producing.

The project marks the second collaboration between Apple TV+ and Yang following the premiere of anthology series Little America.
