Apple TV+ orders second season of Universal TV’s workplace comedy Loot

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and Maya Rudolph star in workplace comedy Loot

Apple TV+ has renewed Maya Rudolph-led workplace comedy Loot.

The order of a second season comes less than three weeks after the series, produced by Universal Television, debuted globally. New episodes are being released weekly and five episodes have been released to date.

The renewal also comes after Apple TV+ inked a multi-year first-look deal with Animal Pictures, the production outfit led by US actresses Rudolph and Natasha Lyonne and producer Danielle Renfrew Behrens.

Created, written and executive produced by Alan Yang and Matt Hubbard, Loot follows a billionaire (played by Rudolph) who finds herself in a downward spiral after learning her husband has been lying to her for 20 years. To her surprise, a charitable foundation offers her a way to get back on track.

Also starring in the series are Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Joel Kim Booster, Nat Faxon, Ron Funches and Stephanie Styles.

Rudolph, Lyonne and Renfrew Behrens are executive producers via their Animal Pictures banner, as well as Dave Becky of 3 Arts.
