Apple TV+ orders live-action adaptation of graphic novel series Surfside Girls

Streamer Apple TV+ has ordered a live-action kids and family adaptation of graphic novel series Surfside Girls.

The mystery adventure graphic novels, written by Kim Dwinell and published by IDW Publishing’s Top Shelf Productions, follow the summer adventures of two girls who meet a ghost and attempt to break the curse surrounding a pirate ship’s treasure.

Apple TV+’s adaptation will be produced by Endeavor Content and IDW Entertainment as a 10-episode live-action series.

It will be written and exec produced by May Chan, who also serves as showrunner. Alex Diaz and Julie Sagalowsky Diaz will also write and exec produce, while America Young will direct and exec produce the first two episodes.

Paul Stupin and Lydia Antonini will also serve as exec producers, alongside IDW Entertainment’s exec VP of entertainment Paul Davidson and VP of kids, family and animation Jeff Brustrom.
