Apple TV+ orders ‘genre-bending’ drama series Sugar led by Colin Farrell

Apple TV+ has placed a series order for Sugar, a drama created by Mark Protosevich (The Cell, Thor, I Am Legend) and starring Colin Farrell.

Produced by Apple Studios, Sugar will be directed by Fernando Meirelles (City of God), who will also exec produce with Protosevich, Farrell, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Scott Greenberg and Chin Vucelich.

Sugar marks the second collaboration for Kinberg’s Genre Films and Apple TV+ and will stream alongside sci-fi drama Invasion, which was recently renewed for a second season.

Apple TV+ has kept quiet about the plot of Sugar, defining it as a “genre-bending” series. The streamer outbid Netflix for the potential series late last year.
