Apple TV+ invites Michael Buckley’s The Sisters Grimm to kids’ and family slate

The Sisters Grimm features a star-studded voice cast

Apple TV+ is launching an animated fantasy adventure show based on Michael Buckley’s book series The Sisters Grimm.

Premiering globally on October 3, The Sisters Grimm centres on two orphaned sisters, descended from the Brothers Grimm, who navigate a town full of people straight out of fantasy and fairy tales. Together they confront heroes and villains alike, while investigating the mystery of their missing parents.

The series’ voice cast includes Ariel Winter (Modern Family), Leah Newman, Laraine Newman (Saturday Night Live), Abubakar Salim (Raised by Wolves), Billy Harris (Ted Lasso) and Harry Trevaldwyn (How to Train Your Dragon).

The Sisters Grimm was developed by Amy Higgins (Star vs the Forces of Evil), who serves as showrunner, and Erica Rothschild (Sofia the First). LA-based studio Titmouse (Harriet the Spy) produces the animation.

The six-episode series is executive produced by Higgins, Buckley, Elliot Blake (Re\Visioned: Tomb Raider Animated Series), Philip Alberstat (The Incredible Mrs Ritchie), Steven Amato (27 Mins) and Theresa Park (Roar), alongside Titmouse founders Chris Prynoski (The Legend of Vox Machina) and Shannon Prynoski (Scavengers Reign), Ben Kalina (Big Mouth) and Antonio Canobbio (Digman!).
