Apple TV+ extends Mythic Quest storyline with Mere Mortals spin-off series

Mythic Quest, the acclaimed workplace comedy series from Apple TV+, is getting a spin-off.

The global streamer has ordered an eight-part series, Mere Mortals, which is written by Ashly Burch (who stars in Mythic Quest), John Howell Harris and Katie McElhenney.

Like the original, the spin-off is being produced by Lionsgate, 3 Arts Entertainment and Ubisoft.

Mythic Quest is in the middle of its third season, which debuted last month, and has already been renewed for a fourth instalment.

It was created by Charlie Day, Megan Ganz and Rob McElhenney, all of whom will serve as executive producers on the spin-off show alongside David Hornsby, Nick Frenkel, Michael Rotenberg, Jason Altman and Margaret Boykin.

The original show follows a fictional video game studio that produces a popular title called Mythic Quest. The spin-off series will “explore the lives of employees, players and fans who are impacted by the game.”
