My Kind of Country, which is Apple’s first competition series, will see country music singers compete by performing on stage. The show, which Apple describes as a “hybrid series,” will also feature elements of the documentary genre.

Witherspoon will exec produce for Hello Sunshine alongside head of film and television Lauren Neustadter and senior VP of unscripted programming Cynthia Stockhammer.

Also exec producing are country music manager and Sandbox Entertainment CEO Jason Owen, and Izzie Pick Ibarra, showrunner of The Masked Singer and Dancing with the Stars in the US.

Melanie Fletcher, chief operating officer of prodco Done + Dusted, will also exec produce with executive producer and partner Katy Mullan.

Adam Blackstone, who is musical director for artists including Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keyes and Rihanna, will serve as musical director of the series.
