Apatow rock band doc set for HBO

HBO in the US has acquired a feature documentary co-directed and produced by Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfiglio about a rock band.

May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers is from Apatow Production (Crashing, Girls) in association with RadicalMedia.

Apatow and Bonfiglio direct and produce, while executive producers include Jon Kamen, Dave O’Connor and Justin Wilkes.

The show chronicles The Avett Brothers band and follows the frontmen, siblings Scott and Seth Avett, as they progress from their rural North Carolina childhood to topping the charts.

It’s the second doc to come from Apatow and Bonfiglio after last year’s ESPN baseball special Doc & Darryl.
