Antiques Roadshow Oz adaptation poised for pilot with BBC Studios Australia

BBC Studios Australia is filming an Australian pilot episode of Antiques Roadshow

BBC Studios Australia is filming an Australian-adapted pilot episode of its enduring format Antiques Roadshow.

The production company has issued a casting call for participants and their treasured heirlooms. BBC Studios Australia confirmed that a pilot of an Australian version of the format was in production but does not yet have a local commissioning network. No further details have been made available on the proposed production.

The series, which is currently broadcast on ABC TV, has enjoyed a long and consistent audience in Australia.

This is not the first time that the Antiques Roadshow concept has been tried in Australia. In 2005, BBC UK in conjunction with The Lifestyle Channel, produced an Australian ‘tour’ season with six one-hour episodes branded Antiques Roadshow Australia and an accompanying BTS special, Antiques Roadshow Australia: Behind the Scenes.
