The appointment was confirmed today by Romain Bessi, who replaced Bibiane Godfroid as Newen Studios CEO in December.

Pugacewicz has been deputy managing director at the firm since 2016, in charge of finance, purchases and information systems.

She will now oversee the mergers and acquisitions team, led by Réda Makhtoum, and legal and human resources departments, managed by Emilie Maarek and Sylvain Masson respectively.

Pugacewicz began her career as a financial auditor at EY France. In 2010, she became finance and business development director of Télévista, an independent player in the pay TV market. In 2013, she worked for Discovery as a consultant on Eurosport’s post-acquisition integration. Early in 2014, she joined Zodiak Media as group chief financial officer, and was also involved in the Zodiak-Banijay merger.

Bessi said: “Over the past few years, Newen Studios has been growing fast in France and internationally. We are grateful to have so many talents with managerial and creative skills in our group. Newen still has beautiful years of expansion to come and I know that Anna will be the right person to help me lead this journey with agility, kindness and proactivity.”
