Animation veterans including Sander Schwartz back new Gamisodes platform

A group of veteran animation and interactive media leaders have teamed up to create a new entertainment platform that will launch in 2023.

Gamisodes is described as “a next generation entertainment platform of interactive, gamified TV shows.”

The platform, which has been in the works for more than a year, is led by a team of execs with experience at Warner Brothers, Disney Imagineering, Sony and Universal.

It includes: serial entrepreneur Davis Brimer, founder and CEO of Gamisodes; Sander Schwartz, producer and former president of Warner Bros Animation; Howard Braham, former Disney Imagineer; and Agnes Garbowska, creator and illustrator for DC Super Hero Girls, Transformers, My Little Pony and Care Bears.

The company will be announcing its flagship “gamisode” IP in the coming weeks, it said, which will be based on a classic cartoon.

The launch of the interactive platform will be preceded by the launch of Gamisodes Virtual Cards.

Schwartz, also a former Fremantle and Sony Pictures Television International exec, said: “It’s an exciting time for the entertainment industry as gaming continues to converge with other media. Gamisodes is opening a new chapter for the future of linear entertainment.”

“Gamisodes will combine digital collectible cards with an interactive gaming experience in a novel way, and of course we’re going to put story at the front of everything we do,” said Braham, a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University Masters in interactive game design and development.

“Storytelling and games go hand-in-hand. Gamisodes will be a blast for all ages who can interact with the shows they love in new and fun ways,” said Garbowska.

Brimer added: “Whether you’re five or 105 years old, this is a platform for anyone looking to connect with their inner child. Stay tuned for nostalgia-filled announcements in the coming weeks.”
