MIPCOM: US prodco Intuitive Content has entered into a coproduction partnership with Singapore’s Hazelnut Media to make new global culinary travel format Eat Like a Local.

The 10-part series explores different cities and their culinary and cultural “soul” through the eyes and tastebuds of the locals. The show kicks off in Singapore, with local people providing an insider’s view of what makes its food scene unique.

Eat Like a Local is produced and fronted by chef and TV personality Andrew Zimmern, who founded Intuitive Content. Hazelnut Media’s co-CEOs Isabella-Sreyashii Sen and Olivier Dock are coproducing the show, which is shot in 4K and due to premiere in 2025.

“This is an entirely new IP and it’s exciting to take such a deep dive into the heart and soul of food in different cities. Each dish tells a story, and this show is about uncovering the people behind those stories,” said Zimmern of the new format.

“Eat Like a Local is an endlessly repeatable format with huge global potential, as food is the universal language that connects us all,” said Patrick Weiland, president of Intuitive Content.

Unscripted specialist Intuitive’s slate also includes Hope in the Water for PBS, Kitchen Glow up for Tastemade, Family Dinner and Zoë Bakes for Magnolia Network/Discovery+, What’s Eating America for MSNBC and How to Survive a Murder for Reelz.
