Docuseries Violent Minds: Killers on Tape

NBCUniversal-owned network Oxygen True Crime has unveiled a soon-to-launch docuseries, Violent Minds: Killers on Tape, from Ample Entertainment and Motiv8 Media.

The nine-part true crime docuseries follows a renowned psychiatrist, Dr Al Carlisle, as he studies recorded conversations with some of America’s most notorious killers to examine what turns seemingly ordinary people into murderers.

Violent Minds is set to premiere on Oxygen on Sunday April 2 with back-to-back episodes. After that, it will air weekly, with episodes also streaming on Peacock after they have debuted on linear. The first season consists of seven hour-long episodes and two 90-minute episodes.

The first two episodes will focus on Carlisle’s conversations with Ted Bundy after he was arrested and charged for aggravated kidnapping in Utah in 1975. Others profiled in the series include Arthur Gary Bishop, the Hi-Fi Killers and Manny Cortez.

Ari Mark, Phil Lott and Kathryn Vaughan are executive producing the series for Ample Entertainment along with Motiv8’s Kara Kurcz and Brian Lee.

Ample Entertainment’s credits include The Invisible Pilot (HBO) and Kangaroo Valley (Netflix). The company is currently in production on several titles including Sushi Master (Roku) and Ancient Empires (History). Motiv8 has produced titles such as Chasing the Cure, Live PD and Mark of a Serial Killer.
